DEOGRATIUS THOMAS KIWALE (a.k.a. Deko)

 

Hi.  I'm a Tanzanian born on the island of Zanzibar. I grew up in Dar Es Salaam, and moved back to my roots to Moshi near Uru West, the village of my grandparents, situated on the side of Mt Kilimanjaro.  I started my career as a porter carrying heavy loads up Mt Kilimanjaro. In the low season I washed tents in the Moshi river just to keep myself in the game.  After I gained more work as a guide on the mountain I formalised my experience by studying tourism and tour guiding at Sinon College.  

 

I'm now living and working in Arusha so I can be closer to the northern circuit and all the places I love the most.  As a Tour Driver Guide and Manager of SafarEase I have the best job in the world.  I get to spend my days chasing lions, leopards, cheetahs, rhinos, elephants, giraffe, buffalo, wildebeest, and so many other amazing creatures, across what I believe is the most beautiful countryside in the world, and as if it couldn't get any better, I actually get paid to do it!  

 

I'm so proud to call Africa my home, and I get such a thrill out of showing it to others.  To be honest, I can't wait to show you around my home where I know you'll experience a once in a lifetime adventure safari with yours truly......
